The apologist Ken Ham has written numerous books and preached in many churches defending THE most important fundamental part of the Bible, Genesis 1-11. Without these chapters in the very beginning of the Bible being taken in a serious, fundamentalist manner you cannot even hope to be able to read the rest of the Bible and take it seriously. Without Genesis the whole Bible falls apart. Six days, God as the creator, the fall of man, sin and death are all major themes in the Bible. So when the world says that these aren't possible they are launching an attack at the foundation of the Word. So when we look at evolution and say, it doesn't matter what you believe trust Jesus, it's like look at a leak in the hull of a submarine and say, it doesn't matter that water is rushing in to destroy us. The church is not working hard enough to fight this obvious threat. So how do we fight back? Well, just as Genesis is the foundation of the Bible and nothing works without it; so is billions-of-years is the foundation of evolution. Without it nothing else works. But here is the difference between Darwinism and the Bible is this: the world builds they're foundation of the sand and we build ours on the rock just as the parable says. When the storm comes they fall apart and we remain. So let's bring the rain.

The title of this post is "The Salt Shaker" because I am presenting to you an excellent apologetic to use against anti-theistic attacks. You see if you can get rid of billions-of-years you get rid of the whole theory. So here is one amazing fact to support the Bible/kill evolution. The ocean... As we all know the ocean is a large body of salt water. But here is something you probably didn't know. Every year the water gets a little more salty. If it were true that the earth is ~40 billion years old then the ocean would be a block of solid salt by now. No water just salt. A giant salt lick of irony. The ocean has already become hypertonic, meaning it actually takes water from your cells instead of gives you it. This and piles upon piles of more evidence wipe the sand right out from beneath the feet of Darwinists today. Because we have evidence that destroys there evidence, making it fiction, they cannot use it to argue that Genesis is false thus destroying God's Word. Don't believe me? Check this out!

Genesis 1-11 explains everything: suffering on the earth, death, are we alone, how did we get here, and what is our purpose. Because it is so fundamental it has become a hectic war-zone of controversy causing many timid Christians to ign0re it completely. Genesis, along with the entire Old Testament is being ignore completely by churches today because of the bad taste it leaves in people's mouths. But the Old Testament is the most exciting half of the Bible. Yes, we may be under the new covenant but that doesn't mean the OT doesn't matter any more. Which brings us to the second half of the post. Salt in the since of Christianity. Jesus uses salt as an analogy of staying pure. Not letting worldly ideas (like evolution) enter our lives. We MUST remain pure. Because what happens if we compromise Genesis 1-11? The whole book falls apart. It's like a toll gate for the rest of the Bible. If you can't pay the toll of belief all your left with is philosophy not theology. So equip yourself with knowledge and remain pure of worldly ideals (like evolution).

God bless...

For more information, apologetics, and resources go to http://www.answersingenesis.org/.

The "Sin Diet" Challenge

Daniel 1 (NIV)
1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. 2 And the Lord delivered Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, along with some of the articles from the temple of God. These he carried off to the temple of his god in Babylonia and put in the treasure house of his god.
3 Then the king ordered Ashpenaz, chief of his court officials, to bring in some of the Israelites from the royal family and the nobility- 4 young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king's palace. He was to teach them the language and literature of the Babylonians. 5 The king assigned them a daily amount of food and wine from the king's table. They were to be trained for three years, and after that they were to enter the king's service.

6 Among these were some from Judah: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. 7 The chief official gave them new names: to Daniel, the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego.

8 But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. 9 Now God had caused the official to show favor and sympathy to Daniel, 10 but the official told Daniel, "I am afraid of my lord the king, who has assigned your food and drink. Why should he see you looking worse than the other young men your age? The king would then have my head because of you."

11 Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, 12 "Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. 13 Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see." 14 So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days.

15 At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food. 16 So the guard took away their choice food and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables instead.

17 To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds.

18 At the end of the time set by the king to bring them in, the chief official presented them to Nebuchadnezzar. 19 The king talked with them, and he found none equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; so they entered the king's service. 20 In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom.

21 And Daniel remained there until the first year of King Cyrus.

Daniel and his friends had been given the choice to have the best of the best in terms of food. The king's food to be exact. There were people in that time that would kill to have a shot at the king's table. You see Daniel had an opportunity to live large and enjoy the pleasures of life. But though these things pleased the taste buds and the eyes and the flesh, they certainly did not please God. I could assume that some of the foods there were not kosher making them un-clean for Daniel and his friends to eat in the first place. Daniel knew it was wrong for him to eat these things. Though there was a king had made it regulation for the boys to eat these meals Daniel (as the Hebrew National commercials would say) was answering to a higher authority.
So he appealed to a guard, who had taken a liking to Daniel, to give them only fruits, vegetables, and water to eat/drink. The guard was concerned at this but Daniel assured him nothing would happen. How? How did Daniel know that everything would be alright? Tuck that thought away for later. Well Daniel and his friends went on to eat a healthy diet and at the end of the specified time Daniel and his friends looked better and were stronger than the other boys there.
While the rest of them were indulging in the world's pleasures Daniel hugged close to God and stayed there not daring to stray away from His grip. Because of Daniel's obedience to God he was given wisdom and a long lasting place in the king's court....

I was thinking recently how much better I myself could be doing with my spiritual diet. My physical diet of gentile foods and fast eats did not concern me in the least. But I looked at the men in the Bible, old testament specifically, and I looked at how they had such a devotion to God. I had that devotion once when I was a child and my leash was tight. But after a while the collar loosened and I was not so close to God anymore. That strict rule was no longer over me and I "let myself go." How much better I could be doing. I watched shows with cursing and sexual reference, video games with swearing, I was getting sloppy with my work, I had no regular quiet time, or ministry to serve under. My spiritual health was suffering. So in my moment of meditation I came up with a phrase: Sin Diet. Cutting out all unhealthy habits to strengthen my walk with God.

So here is the challenge. Go on a diet with me, let's take Daniel's lead. Cut out bad movies, games, swearing, laziness and I am certain that you will grow stronger. Unpack that thought from earlier, how do I know? How did Daniel know? Because God has told us that if we walk with Him then nothing can hurt us. Just as the Apostles could survive snake bites and poisonings we today can survive strikes from the Serpent. By removing all "junk food," "unhealthy snacks," and becoming more "regular" you will become stronger and just like Daniel God will begin to bless you more and more. Having a stronger body is desirable but none as great as becoming a stronger believer. Ready to take on the challenge? Okay here are the guide lines:

NO "Junk Food"
When we hear junk food we think cheeseburger with a side of fries right? Well for this exercise I want you to think R-rated movies, even PG-13 movies. Any films with the tiniest curse or sex reference is loaded with bad spiritual carbs. Don't let these things get into your head because soon they will be coming out of your head.
Matthew 15:11 (NIV)
"What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean,' but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean.' "

NO "Unhealthy Snacks"
When we were kids swear words were foreign to us. But as our English got better we learned some naughty phrases along the way. Maybe you have let these words into your mouth. Refer to the above verse. Or perhaps you have a habit of masturbation, lust is bad for your diet. Maybe you like to make out with your girl/boy friend whenever you get the chance, again lust is loaded with carbs! Maybe you just like being in a bad mood. Look at Matthew 13:24-27 but put a little more focus on verse 27. When people look at you they need to see Christ. So they may ask, "If you are a Christian sir, why are you cursing like that?" Little things we let slip because they are pushed upon us day in and day out ruin how the world sees Christ. They need to see a NO compromise Christian who fights the good fight and stands up for what is right. Stay faithful to God and do not cheat. Cut out all unhealthy snacks.

Become more "Regular"
If you have not already start a regular quiet time with God. Pray and read the Bible. Don't just read it but study it. Try and understand it (by asking God for the wisdom James 1:5). Pray continuously.

Get Active
Get involved in some sort of church ministry. Volunteer for stuff. Go on a mission trip. Remember idle hands are the devil's play things. Until you start using your spiritual gift you can't really start to serve God find out where you feel God is leading you to be and then go there.
Don't know exactly what your spiritual gift is? Try this free test find out. But get more active don't get lazy.

Exercise your spiritual muscles
Any exercise trainer could tell you that the key to a good work-0ut routine is variety. There needs to be a variety in your Bible study. There is a phenomenon known as rabbit poisoning. What does this mean? Well you can actually starve to death on rabbit. How does this happen? Well let's say you were in the wilderness and all that you had to eat was rabbit. That was all you were able to catch and that's all that was abundant enough to support you. Well if all you eat is the good tasting meat you will starve. The meat of a rabbit does not have the nutrients need to sustain a diet. So you may feel full but you are still wasting away little by little. All the meat does is numb the pain. If you want to survive on rabbit YOU HAVE TO EAT THE WHOLE THING. That means eyes, bones, guts, brains, the everything. Same can apply to the Bible. The Bible is our only source of nourishment in the desert place we call life. If you want to grow from the Bible you need to read the whole thing. If you take a stick and whack yourself on the leg it's gonna hurt. If you do it again it's gonna hurt some more. But if you keep on doing it eventually your leg will go numb where you've hitting it. Don't just read the same stuff over and over and again. Move around some. If a muscle does not move for 8 hours you will loose your motor memory along with the ability to move that muscle. Exercise your reading and get to know the Bible better. It will become your best friend.

I hope you will take this challenge seriously and work to cut out all evil carbs from your diet. At that time he was an atheist married to an agnostic. Once his wife started going to church and became a Christian, the positive change in her character fascinated him. So he thus set out to prove the Bible wrong. But before he did he made these promises to himself: that he would follow the evidence where ever it goes and that he would keep and open mind, putting all prejudices aside. After years of grueling searching, questioning, and investigating finally the answer came out. The Bible was completely and wholly true! As a result of this Lee Strobel laid down his hateful ways and became a follower of Christ and is to this day a major apologist and teacher for the Faith. Writing books such as "The Case for Christ," "The Case for a Creator," "The Case for Faith," and most recently (I would definitely recommend this one) "The Case for the Real Jesus". We see how an open mind can lead to changed hearts and rescued souls... Now, I realize this topic of Christians and alcohol is a touchy, sensitive, and dividing subject. Everyone has their own opinion on it and does not want to budge. But I pray that you would follow Mr. Strobel's example and keep an open mind and follow the evidence where ever it goes and as a result make your decision accordingly. I am not saying I am better than any of you but I would like to shed like on this topic and reveal it for what it truly says. And in this modern day the only source of real objective truth the Bible. Let this book be your guide and lay aside all prejudices just for a moment as we explore God's will for His children...*

Should Christians drink alcohol? That is the question we are looking at today. This topic can be taken many ways and sometimes to unnecessary extremes. Like the Prohibition Act in the case against alcohol. Or in the cause for alcohol witnessing by engaging in frat party activities. Becoming a loose as possible to please the wild populous. But neither of these are appropriate routes to take. The argument can simplified to these points: Jesus drank so it must be okay, there is nothing saying it is wrong in the Bible, the Bible actually approves of alcohol... Convincing? Maybe. But now the question is- can you back that up? Or can I knock you down? Let's look deeper shall we?

I Corinthians 6:12
"'Everything is permissible to me'--but not everything is beneficial. 'Everything is permissible for me'--but I will not be mastered by anything."

The first argument for alcohol is that drinking alcohol is not bad. Drinking is not a sin... Well, examine that verse above and think about. Though this verse was place in context of sexual immorality, it rings true for drinking as well. Just because we can drink DOESN'T MEAN THAT WE SHOULD! We may be permitted to drink but does that help me serve God? This passage in I Corinthians 6 goes on to say that we were bought with a price (verse 20) and because of that we should live for God...
Guys, you have been changed. You have bought with Christ's blood on the cross and renewed to the glory of God. WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT (Disclaimer: I am not one for beating around the bush or nursing your wounded pride) YOU MUST LIVE FOR GOD NOW! It is a giving relationship. He gave up His life now I give up mine. Romans 12:1 states that we must offer up our bodies as "living sacrifices" to the Lord... Now a sacrifice implies giving something up: whether it's family (Matthew 10:37), comfort (look at John the Baptist), or even YOUR LIFE (Matthew 10:39) you are required by God to lay down things for Him. Am I saying that if you do not give up these things you won't receive salvation CERTAINLY NOT!! What I am saying is, if the time calls for it and that's what you must do- you better be ready to do it! So Sometimes we have to give up our own selfish needs for God's glory. That includes social acceptance. We are to stand out, not fit in. That brings me to the conclusion of this argument. Drinking may not be a sin per se, but does that glorify God?? Think about that how does going down to the local bar and throwing back a cold one with the boys help you glorify God? IT DOESN'T! In fact that would be walking in the counsel of the wicked which Psalm 1:1 teaches against. So if we can't hang out with sinners, or be bound up with non believers why do we need to drink so that we may be accepted by them? The church leaders won't pat you on the back and welcome because you drink. Okay so you like beers and martinis, what is you walk with God like? So drinking may not be a sin but in our society today what alcohol is associated with IS a sin. This brings us to our next point.

Jesus drank wine so it can't be bad because JESUS NEVER SINNED! From what I just said above a lot of think you've got me! HA HA! HE CAN'T DENY THE PERFECTNESS OF CHRIST BECAUSE THAT WOULD MAKE HIM A HEATHEN! Well not so fast! Let's compare our time to Jesus times... First of all you have to understand what drinking meant back then... nothing! It was as normal as opening a can of soda and drinking that with dinner. You have to understand something about sanitation back then- it sucked. Even today almost ALL of our ground and surface water in its untouched form is polluted and poisonous. This is not necessarily a bad thing for us though because we have the technology to purify our water. But now so for the people of the first century. Drinking straight water back then could make you sick. It was also nasty and bad tasting.
Fermentation solved that problem. Fermentation is the process used to make alcohol. When you take water and mix it with something like hops (in the case of beer) or grapes (in the case of wine) a reaction occurs because of the bacteria in the water. Once the drink has finished fermenting it is basically bacteria free and could for drinking... Back then alcohol was like soda is today. And alternative to water. Drunkenness did occur back then but not as much as today. Alcohol is abused more in our society today.
When one hears someone say, "Let's go get a drink." They hear someone asking them to go to a bar. When you say someone has drinking problem, that means they are an alcoholic! EVEN THE WORD DRINKING IN OUR SOCIETY TODAY HAS BEEN MONOPOLIZED BY ALCOHOL! The number one most ABUSED substance is alcohol in America. Thousands upon thousands of people are prisoners to alcoholism. Here alcohol is something used to get high, not as an alternative to drinking water. When one hears beer they think of drunken red necks, frat parties, DUI's, bars and clubs. When one hears wine they think fancy restaurants, a romantic night in a hotel rooms, rich people, fancy expensive living. Then again you may think communion (for clarification I am in NO way against communion in fact it is our responsibility to uphold the last supper) or weddings. It is a drink to celebrate the joy of life, while beer is used to wash always our sorrows... Don't we already have something to give us joy and comfort us (2 Cor. 1:3-4)? The point is the lifestyle and activities associated with alcohol and drinking are not pleasing to the Lord. By saying that Jesus approves of alcohol is translated by the ears of the average American that Jesus is okay with me going to bars and being involved with those types of activities. Does this sound extreme to you? Look at is this way:

By acting like the world you are being lukewarm, comprising your faith.
Revelations 3:16-17
So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.

People say that you have be so "radical" with your faith. There is a middle road where you can live the American dream and still serve God.
Matthew 7:13
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it...

You can not spend your time in wicked places designed for wicked things (bars and clubs).
Psalm 1:1
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit the seat of mockers.

So yes, Jesus drank wine. But wine was the equivalent to a Coke or Pepsi back then. Everyone even children drank wine. But just because because Jesus drank wine back then doesn't mean should today. JESUS NEVER SINNED! HE WAS PERFECT! But we can't engage in the activities of sinners. Back then wine was not used as a drug. So what then can we used to compare alcoholism to back then?
Acts 15:29
You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things...

Today is alcohol, back then it was food sacrificed to idols. Pagans have very well been driven into the cracks in America. But what it was as popular back then as drinking is today. In this passage the new converts having a hard time adjusting to Christian life. They didn't want to get circumcised and this scare many of them away. So Paul (an apostle mind you) told them as long as they do not eat food sacrificed to idols they could be sanctified that way and not have to be circumcised... Either way it made them stand out. But the gentiles you see still wanted to go to the temples and hang out with their pagan friends. Just as Christians today still want to go to bars and hang out with their heathen friends... They would say: "What's so about eating meat! Jesus did! So can we!" Now they probably never said that but would rationalize it that way. But it wasn't eating the meat but what it represented that it was bad. In order for us to be sanctified to we should abstain from drinking ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE UNDER-AGED!

Now the next and final argument given is the Bible actually approves of alcohol. In verses such as 1 Timothy 5:23 it speaks of wine's medicinal properties. Also in passages it tells us that wine brings joy to the hearts of men. So yes wine has its benefits. But let's not forget all the passages warning against alcohol. Also do not forget God wrote the WHOLE Bible, not just the parts we like.

Proverbs 20:1
Wine is a mocker and beer is a brawler; whoever is lead astray by them is not wise.

Proverbs 23:29-35
29 Who has woe? Who has sorrow?
Who has strife? Who has complaints?
Who has needless bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes?

30 Those who linger over wine,
who go to sample bowls of mixed wine.

31 Do not gaze at wine when it is red,
when it sparkles in the cup,
when it goes down smoothly!

32 In the end it bites like a snake
and poisons like a viper.

33 Your eyes will see strange sights
and your mind imagine confusing things.

34 You will be like one sleeping on the high seas,
lying on top of the rigging.

35 "They hit me," you will say, "but I'm not hurt!
They beat me, but I don't feel it!
When will I wake up
so I can find another drink?"

Proverbs warns against the use of alcohol. Yes it has it's benefits but there are more verses warning us against it than approving it. And in this current society and climate I would say it would be best to stay away from it. The way alcohol is abused today it is very easy for a devout follower to be lead astray by this drink. My dad always told me that you'll never know if you're going to be an alcoholic until you have your first drink. DRUNKENNESS DISPLEASES GOD AND IS A SIN! And if you have never had drink in your life don't start. This way you avoid temptation and don't run the risk of becoming a drunkard. If you have already been drinking and are not one to abuse and and never have abused it there is nothing wrong with a beer now and then. But keep in mind 50% of all DUI's are given to social drinkers. If you are an alcoholic you MUST CHANGE. You cannot even hope to serve or please or grow in God if you are addicted to alcohol. Alcoholics Anonymous acknowledges that the only you are going to get over your addiction is through the power of God. If you are Christian and struggle with drunkenness, seek help immediately! So yes the Bible gives some kudos to wine but it also says be wise and don't drink. So is drinking a sin, no. But is it wise, NO. You never know if you're going to be an alcoholic until you have your first drink.
Ephesians 5:15-18
Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

So in conclusion. It would be best for we and born again followers of Christ to stay away from and abstain from alcohol. If you have never drank don't start! You do not NEED to drink alcohol which is contrary to what our society teaches us today. It is not a sin but it does not glorify God. Jesus drank but alcohol today is different than it was back then. I cannot say it is bad to drink and you cannot say it is good to drink either. IN CONCLUSION: Just stay from the stuff guys and don't even worry about it. It makes you "cool" with sinners but NOT with GOD.
I always appreciate feed back. Tell me your thoughts but remember to back up your claims with Biblical evidence. They say that "it's a fairy tale", "impossible", "ilogical", and "unscientific". But if they would just look deeper they would see that all the evidence points TO THERE BEING A GOD. And not just any god but the God in the Bible. So now wait a minute! If there is SO much evidence of their being a God (nature, conscience, archeology, eye witnesses, historical accuracy, astronomical accuracy, logic, science) why do someone not want to believe what is right in front of their noses?!
Well I suppose an accurate comparison for an atheist would be neo-nazis. One thing neo-nazis have on their agenda is to stop the "lie" of the Holocaust. Even though the Holocaust was an actual, factual historical event the neo-nazi party says and believes that the whole darn thing was cooked up by the Jewish race to obtain sympathy and to make the nazi party look bad... Why do the neo-nazis believe this though? Well for one thing it does make them look bad, it's hard to pass your political agenda when the world hates you and your activities are some what outlawed. But the reason I want us to look at is this: the neo-nazis want to believe that their ideals, desires, and actions are right and as long as the holocaust happened (along with all the nastiness and evil) then their fantasy will be gone and the ugly truth revealed.
But how is this an accurate comparison to atheists? Okay first, neo-nazis and atheists both are believe some true is a lie. Secondly, they both do this despite of the over whelming evidence around them. And last and most importantly the fuel to their fire is they don't want to believe that their ideals, desires, and actions are bad. To atheists if their is a God then they must answer for what they have done and they don't want to do that. It sounds unbelievable that neo-nazis can believe they are right when there are concentration camps, photos, eye witness accounts from both sides, and in the same way it is amazing that atheists can deny that there is a God in the face of nature, conscience, archelogy, history, and eye witness accounts.

But that can't be the only reason they don't believe... Another reason is that atheists find the idea stupid. That it is unreasonable and ilogical that some man in the sky desides the fate of the world.
But in the end it is simply this: they are angry, hurting people cast off by the world who do not believe that they are wrong doers or evil and that one loves them enough to care about them like Jesus does. But in the end Romans 14:11 says: For it is written, "AS I LIVE, SAYS THE LORD, EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO ME, AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL GIVE PRAISE TO GOD."

In closing if there is a God then these things are true: Man is evil by his own choice, God is angry at us but has shown mercy and wants to give us another chance, Faith and repentance are the only way to Heaven and all other religions or ideas are wrong. Atheists fear this the most... But it's true!

Glory to God in the Highest!

What's Taking So Long?

Evolution is no more than the love child of anger and ignorance. Those who like evolution claim to be followers of science- but unfortunately there is more science in Literal Creationsim than most people think. This is much more than a Sunday school story- it is a wonderous work of science and creativity all Christians need to learn to accept if they are to accept the full wonder of God...

There are many takes on how the universe was created:

Evolution/Big Bang THEORY-
Unfortunately this THEORY is being taught as truth in our public schools today. Even though atheists preach coexistence if they truly followed that philosophy they would teach cooperative education where both Creationism and Evolution are taught leaving the student to choice for themselves. But unfortunately atheists are about mind numbed robots not free thinking children of God. Even God Himself has given us the ultimate free will by placing the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the garden of eden. But that's another discussion. The big bang theory takes God out of the equation completely by saying that a whole bunch of random space junk collides and eventually they explosion resulted in single celled organisms that took BILLIONS of years to evolve into intelligent organisms. But their are flaws with that- take the girraffe for example. You see according to Darwin's theory of need, a being doesn't evolve something untill it needs it. But because the girraffe need the wonder net to survive (and keep its brain from exploding) this animal would have died out before it could evolve. A DEAD ANIMAL CAN NOT EVOLVE!

But there are those Christians who believe in a slightly warped view of Creation.
Here is the original creation account:

Genesis 1
The Creation
1(A)In the beginning (B)God (C)created the heavens and the earth.
2The earth was [a](D)formless and void, and (E)darkness was over the surface of the deep, and (F)the Spirit of God (G)was [b]moving over the surface of the waters.

3Then (H)God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.

4God saw that the light was (I)good; and God (J)separated the light from the darkness.

5(K)God called the light day, and the darkness He called night And (L)there was evening and there was morning, one day.

6Then God said, "Let there be an (M)expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters."

7God made the [c]expanse, and separated (N)the waters which were below the expanse from the waters (O)which were above the expanse; and it was so.

8God called the expanse heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.

9Then God said, "(P)Let the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place, and let (Q)the dry land appear"; and it was so.

10God called the dry land earth, and the (R)gathering of the waters He called seas; and God saw that it was good.

11Then God said, "Let the earth sprout (S)vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after their kind with seed in them"; and it was so.

12The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit with seed in them, after their kind; and God saw that it was good.

13There was evening and there was morning, a third day.

14Then God said, "Let there be (T)lights in the (U)expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for (V)signs and for (W)seasons and for days and years;

15and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth"; and it was so.

16God made the two great lights, the (X)greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made (Y)the stars also.

17(Z)God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth,

18and to (AA)govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good.

19There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

20Then God said, "Let the waters teem with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the heavens."

21God created (AB)the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

22God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth."

23There was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.

24(AC)Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth after their kind"; and it was so.

25God made the (AD)beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

26Then God said, "Let (AE)Us make (AF)man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them (AG)rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

27God created man (AH)in His own image, in the image of God He created him; (AI)male and female He created them.

28God blessed them; and God said to them, "(AJ)Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

29Then God said, "Behold, (AK)I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you;

30and (AL)to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food"; and it was so.

31God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very (AM)good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

Now here are some alterations to it:

Theistic Evoloution-
I guess you could call this another attempt by coexisters to sit on the fence and "accept all". Theistic evolutionists say that God's used evolution to create the earth. But look at the above passage- it doesn't say that God started with a single celled organism and let it evolve. It says that God created all the animals as they are ready to breed in one day.

The Day Age Theory-
The Day Age Theory implies that the seven days were actually seven ages (long periods of time) allowing time for God to use evolution. But look at the wording there: there was morning and there was evening the first day... That implies that with in a 24 hour rotaion of the earth God made whatever it was in day.

Literal Creationism-
Whaterver says goes! Take things at face value and trust God. It may be difficult to wrap your mind around the idea God was able to create everything that is before your eyes in a week (when the best we can do is a house). But don't forget God had no beginning so He had plenty of time to plan all this out beginning to end! By accepting the creation account as it is written you accept the wonder and power of the almighty God.

God Bless

Why Can't We All Just Get Along?- A Devotional

Have you ever seen those bumper stickers consisting of the symbols of several world religions made to spell out the word "Coexist". The purpose of this obnoxious plaquer is to alert the world that we would all be better off just getting along, and that world peace is the way! "Well what is bad about that?" Well whether you realize it or not this small organization is aiming to put every Christian in "shackles" to keep them from rippling the waters. Well unfortanately to follow this lifestyle would be to disobey God. And in this note I hope to show you how...

The Coxesist foundation is really focusing on three main "religious" groups (the ones that are fighting the most) Muslims, Jews, and Christians. These peace loving people have no clue just how spiritually deadly thei lifestyle is. In the purest form of coexistence a person would have to have no opinions at all and would basically have to sit there like a log and do nothing! But unfornately for the coexist foundation people have opinions, we can't all just hold hands and sing in a chain circling the earth all day long. Ever since the fall of man people have been fighting. In fact according to God this is a lost cause, in Matthew 24:6 NAS "You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end." So already we see that there will always be war so this is already a lost cause. But again why is bad for Christians in particular??

Matthew 28:19 NAS"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,". Make disciples of ALL THE NATIONS!! Look here is the punchline- in order for us to coexist people that share the same ideals would have to go out sit in their corner of the globe. If you don't like what they have to say don't listen to them. So in order for us to make disciples of all nations like Christ commanded us to do- it will involve trying to change people's paradigms. So in order for a Christian to Coexist- you can't try to spread God's seed to anyone in risk of offending them and rippling the water. So now you know another one of the dangers facing us today...

-Seth

ADDENDUM: HERE IS ONE MORE VERYYYY IMPORTANT VERSE THAT REALLY TIES THIS DISCUSION TOGETHER!!

Matthew 6:24 NAS"No one can serve two masters ; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth."

ie: I accept Christ but I also accept Satanism
